PORT OF MACKAY ROTARY - Digs deep to stock TAET - June 2014
Earlier in the year we approached Port of Mackay Rotary asking if they would consider donating money to purchase equipment for our Therapy Aids, Equipment and Toy Library (TAET). We were invited to a luncheon to receive a donation... we were extremely shocked, and eternally grateful to receive a $10,000 donation. Together with the input of a Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist and a lady who works with children who are visually impaired, we have picked items that would help families who have young children requiring equipment the most. This equipment will either assist in trialling aids for children, or will negate the need to purchase equipment, which will enable better use of funding allocated for these kids.
Some of the Rotarians were telling me their biggest fundraising event is the duck races that happen on the river. We look forward to the duck races, and now knowing how the money is spent strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a duck to race to do so as well.
We thank everyone associated with the Port of Mackay Rotary. We can't wait to show you what your hard earned fundraising money has purchased.
