2014 Mayor's Charity Ball Recipent
All Abilities Mackay were named one of the two major recipients of the proceeds of the Mayor's Charity Ball this year. We greatfully received $8,000 in a handover from the Mackay Sunrise Rotary Club.
The money was sued in two Music Therapy Programs (one at MDSS and an adult's program), a 5 week adult Sensory Circus program, and partially funded a DUET bike which is part of the TAET Library for families to loan.

Ball raises $43,000 for charity
BIDDING was brisk at this year's Mayor's Charity Ball auctions, raising a record tally.
Almost $43,000 was raised through live and silent auctions at the event, held at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre on Saturday night by Mackay Sunrise Rotary.
Four different local charities would benefit from the successful fundraiser, committee member Ken Furdek said yesterday.
The money would be given to Engedi House, the Australian Red Cross blood donor centre, Blue Care and Dragons Abreast.
"The money will go to Mackay Sunrise Rotary and then we'll distribute funds to four charities and then the remainder of money will be put in a trust fund for other Mackay projects," Mr Furdek said.
"Just under $30,000 was raised at the live auction," he said.
"A Broncos signed jersey went for $3300 and a Artie Beetson State of Origin collector's item went for about $3400.
"Everyone had a great time, 180 people were there."
It was new Mackay mayor Deirdre Comerford's first official event.
